About Woodford Players

Woodford Community Players was formed over seventy years ago and continues to go from strength to strength. All our productions are staged at the Woodford Community Centre, Chester Road, Woodford, Stockport, Cheshire SK7 1PS. There are full stage and dressing room facilities, the auditorium seats 150 and there is a very pleasant lounge and bar area.

We currently put on two productions per year in Spring and Autumn plus theatre supper evenings in February. We also have an active social scene, quiz nights, workshops, play readings, outings and theatre trips.
Our rehearsal nights are usually Monday and Wednesday and we rehearse at Woodford Church Annexe.

We are affiliated to Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF) and enter their Full Length Drama Festival each year as well as their competitive One Act Play Festival which is held annually in June.

Are you interested in joining a drama group? Well, look no further! Woodford Players is just the group for you. We are a friendly and welcoming society. We work hard to put on good productions but have fun and a good social atmosphere at the same time. If you are experienced, or completely new to acting it doesn’t matter, a warm welcome awaits you so please don’t hesitate to either ring our Secretary on 0161 440 0118, email us or complete a membership form. We would also welcome with open arms other forms of support in the various “backstage” departments. Set construction, costumes, front of house the list is endless.
