GMDF AWARDS 2010 ~ 2011

 We Won!!! We are delighted and proud to announce the following:

Meg, Adrian, Jude & John with their awards for The Madness George III

The Laurence Roberts Trophy was awarded Meg Bray for her outstanding contribution to Drama and Amateur Theatre as a whole

We won the awards for our November 2010 production of

The Madness of George III directed by Adrian Barrowdale in the following categories.

“Best Technical Presentation”

and

The Adjudicator’s discretionary award went to our Wardrobe Dept for Costumes

The results were announced at the Awards and Presentation Evening on 2nd July 2011 Many Congratulations To All

NODA NOMINATIONS 2010 ~ 2011

 We Won!!! We are delighted and proud to announce the following:

When The Lights Go On Again  May 2010 directed by Meg Bray

We won the award for

“Best Staging Of A Musical”

This is indeed a great accolade as, at the end of the day, Woodford Community Players is a dramatic society not a musical society.

Tom Dawson also won the award for Best Actor!!

This richly deserved award was made for his unforgettable performance as

HRH George III in our November 2010 production of

The Madness of George III directed by Adrian Barrowdale.

GREATER MANCHESTER DRAMA FEDERATION NOMINATIONS 2009 ~ 2010

 We Won!!! We are delighted and proud to announce the following:

The Winslow Boy November 2009

Best Actor (Youth) Harry Griffin as The Winslow Boy

Harry won the Certificate of Promise in this category.

Callum Eaton was also nominated in this category for his performance as The Newspaper Boy in “The Winslow Boy”

When The Lights Go On Again  May 2010

We won the John Evans Cup for Best Technical Presentation

We also won The John Blackburn Trophy which is given at the Adjudicator’s discretion and it was awarded to Woodford Community Players for our ambitious production of “When The Lights Go On Again”

The results were announced at the Awards and Presentation Evening on 3rd July 2010

NODA AWARDS MAY 2010

We are very proud to announce that Adrian Barrowdale won the BEST ACTOR award for his portrayal of Dickie Winslow our November 2009 production of The Winslow Boy

Our Very Own Vice Chairman, Tom Dawson  with his trophy for Best Supporting Actor which was awarded to him in May 2008 for his role as the hapless Inspector Pratt in our November 2007 production of Murdered To Death.

Our President, Derek Blunt, has been awarded The Laurence Roberts Award for

Lifetime Achievement To Amateur Theatre          

This prestigious and much deserved award was presented to Derek at

The Greater Manchester Drama Federation Awards and Finals night June 2007
