Play Dates are April 27th to May 1st 2027 – ‘Breaking The Code’ by Hugh Whitemore – Director Phil Gibbons – Rehearsal days TBC but likely to be Mon, Weds and Thurs or Friday.
This biographical drama tells the story of the eccentric genius, Alan Turing, who broke too many codes but who, nevertheless, played a major role in winning World War II.  He broke the complex German code called Enigma, enabling allied forces to foresee German manoeuvres.

CAST LIST:
Alan Turing: Brilliant mathematician and codebreaker, protagonist of the play, whose homosexuality leads to persecution.
Mick Ross: A police detective investigating a burglary at Turing’s home, who uncovers Turing’s secret life.
Christopher Morcam Turing’s intense, beloved school friend, whose memory profoundly influences Turing.
Dillwyn Knox: Turing’s superior at Bletchley Park, a classical scholar who tries to buffer Turing from the establishment.
Pat Green: A fellow mathematician and colleague at Bletchley Park, who has unrequited feelings for Turing.
Sara Turing: Alan Turing’s mother, who struggles to understand her son.
Ron Miller: A young man with whom Turing has a homosexual affair, leading to Turing’s arrest.
John Smith: A covert government official (MI5) who monitors Turing, representing the oppressive state.
Nikos : A Greek man encountered by Turing, also linked to his later troubles, often played by the same actor as Morcom.
